We’re really pleased to see our lovely town and many local attractions re-opening in these cautious times.
Many of our local restaurants have been running takeaway services during lockdown, but are now reopening fully. Many are asking diners to book in advance, so if you are interested in any specific ones it may be worth checking with them. One, which has unbeatable views and does not require pre-booking, is Deal Pier Kitchen – based at the end of the pier.
We also have a host of independent shops in Deal, which you will find primarily at the Exchange Street end of the High Street. Many of these have reopened, with social distancing being respected.
Our Saturday morning market in Union Road has re-opened with a one-way system and fewer stalls (primarily food and flowers).
The main message is we are very fortunate that the town has lots of support and is open, but in order to avoid disappointment it may be worth checking if any venue you wish to visit is open and whether they require advance booking before heading to them (just in case).
Please do visit, support and enjoy our lovely town!
There are plenty of things to do in and around Deal. Here we have listed a few of these things, breaking them down into easy to navigate categories:
Walking Distance – Things to do in walking distance from the house, they’re worth putting your walking shoes on for!
Further a-field – Things to do further afield from the house, and that are worth getting into the Car (or Taxi / Train) for!
Places to eat – Places to go for a meal. This covers restaurants and takeaways, plus we have a separate list of the all important good places for breakfast / brunch. We have a LARGE choice!
Places to go for a drink – Nice places for a drink, pub or wine bar. We’ve around 20 or so bars within a 10 minute walk.
Calendar of events – An overview of events taking place in the coming months in town and surrounding area. We have also included larger events a little further in the future.
